Cayman Airways from JFK
My family and I have been anxiously awaiting our trip to Morritts from Fri. Dec. 5 - Fri. Dec. 12. Our tickets were purchased (on Cayman Air), our seats selected and our plans as to which seat on the beach or at the pool bar to sit in have helped us deal with the everyday stress that seems to increase daily. Well, for some strange reason, I just checked our Cayman Air reservations and ... you guessed it, our flts no longer exist! I tried calling but of course it's after hours so I have all night to worry about how we will get there. Does anyone know - do I have reason to be concerned or is it just a temporary schedule change? Even the Sat. flt. is gone, isn't Dec. peak time for GC? Thanks for any info. Janet

If that is the case Cayman Airways will contact you with any schedule change. However, I would call their 800 # today.......

Also, Cayman puts it's passenger's information on the following web site, you just have to add your last name and your confirmation number: www.virtuallythere.com It will give you all the info on your flight. Apparently, Cayman Air uses this generic site for its passenger flight information. I also got a call from Cayman Airways about two weeks ago - we are leaving on the 16th of November, a Sunday. They told me that there was a time change for the flight. Actually it was because of daylight savings time which they don't change. So instead of leaving at 7:30 am we were leaving at 8:30am I just checked my flight at the above web site and I am still on for November 16th. Carol

They have led me astray in the past. Make sure to check http://caymanairways.com/ just to see that your flight still exists in the general date and timeframe with the same flight numbers that you have booked. Then contact Cayman Airways directly by phone every few weeks to verify your flight plan has not changed. Their number is 345.949.8200. Careful, as International Rates may apply. John

Thank you all for info, etc. I did call Cayman Air's 800# the next morning. Very nice agent helped protect us on AA flts. getting to GC only an hour later than original flts. Only bad part - changing in MIA both ways. I asked when flts were cancelled, she said about 1 week ago and had no idea why we were not contacted! I hope Cayman Air puts those flts back on (she said we could be put back on them if that happens), but I won't hold my breath. Janet

Called the toll free number and found our Flight to Cayman was fine and is scheduled on November 16th. BUT - our flight back on a Sunday, Dec. 6, direct to JFK is no longer. They gave us the option of cayman to Miami on Cayman air and then AA to JFK from Miami. or leaving on Saturday on Cayman Air direct to JFK. We opted for the day early departure as we both try to avoid Miami whenever possible. Since we are there for three weeks, it won't be the worst, but I am still not happy. Don't know if I would use them again. They are a small airline and I guess need to change their flights to accomadate the traffic to make money.

Sorry to hear you are losing a day, but jealous that you are there 3 weeks! Maybe someday . . . Would love to meet you Friday evening (Dec. 5) just to say "Hi". I have read most of your (everyone's) posts over the past 5 months. We are also from LI, Valley Stream. We bought at the Seaside last year and just added a week in the Grand, we do love the property! You must be counting the days - I know we are! Enjoy! Janet and Tom
